“This is the community I never had. You gave me the tools to get back on my feet.”

Conelia

The relationships I’ve made - not only with the other residents, but with the house managers as well. They truly care about our well-being and progress, and would do anything to help us!

I feel like this home provided me with the stability necessary to focus on my career. My long-term goals include getting my degree in Social Work and help others who also struggle with mental health and addiction.

At Journey Home, we are held responsible for completing weekly chores, attending sobriety meetings, joining in at least one yoga class per week, adhering to a curfew, and attending weekly house meetings to discuss our progress. This type of daily organized structure has really helped me continue my goal of consistent sobriety & accountability, and I couldn’t be more thankful for this program!

These are items we need and use everyday!

When I moved into the residence nearly 7 months pregnant, I was absolutely white knuckling it through each moment of each day. The uncertainty of my housing, and major legal consequences were weight that I no longer had to carry alone. I was a liability, for some reason Jessica Hunt was willing to bet on my success. She gave me an opportunity that nobody else was willing to. She pushed me in ways emotionally, physically, and spiritually I wasn’t aware I needed at the time. Now approaching 3 years in recovery, I am able to see the bigger picture. Even then I don’t know if she fully knew the entire purpose yet, but she led with grace and spirituality that will forever leave a mark on my heart and soul
